Dear Reader ,
I know I said to expect to hear less from me but this week has been a 'biggie'. But before I tell you about that, I want to say thank you to all of those people who were so kind to send me emails after last week's Mind Matters arrived. I feel so incredibly blessed to have such lovely people around me - you know who you are so thank you for being you xx
So back to my week:
6 out of 10 clients cancelled. The odd cancellation is normal but 60% in one week I have NEVER experienced and it was hard not to take that personally and throw the towel in! I believe most were genuine reasons and re-bookings are being made however I did, at one point, wonder if my message of slowing down had been misinterpreted and the 'I AM STILL WORKING WITH CLIENTS' bit had disappeared.
I then tackled the next hardest job on my (massive) todo list (and if you didn't read how I manage my todo lists to stop overwhelm, you can catch up here) - sorting out all of Mum's jewellery. Her rings and the necklace she died in still remain in an envelope and I haven't been able to do anything with these yet but she had a lot of costume jewellery that has been sitting in a box; most of it something I would never wear but it was still a challenge to get it all out and look through it.
And the tombstone drama continued! Just as I thought we were 'done' and the order was signed, Dad called to say that he wanted to move the goalposts - aaaaaggggghhhhhhh!
So time to pull out one of the other 'big guns' in terms of the tools I use with clients for a bit of self work! To find out more about what that was, carry on reading here.
Finally two lovely friends called me with their own personal crises causing me to switch into work mode to help them in a way that I felt was better than just offering friendship. One major plus - by having few clients, I could go and spend as much time with one of them as they wanted which was wonderful. But for both, to be able to draw on resources I had to help them move forward with their own challenges put something 'back in my cup' too. It helped remind me that I have the ability to help people and it is all part of an exchange. Some people give me money in payment, others give me their friendship back in return and that is all perfect!
So for many of us school holidays have started and so a natural change in routine and does that mean that Mind Matters REALLY will properly slow down now? .... I have no idea! Lets see what the week brings!
Until ....well, next time..
