Dear Reader,

Today's mind matters is going to be a short one - largely because my mind is in a bit of a pickle!

Much of that will become clearer if you read this week's blog - all about disappointment!  (And if you have ever felt disappointed, it is worth a read.)

Add on to that, organising a 16 year old's party, meeting said 16 year old's new boyfriend for the first time who is also doing a sleep over!  And then in the spare time, throwing in preparing for a talk to Wiltshire Council that will also be video'd and organising the logistics of that.

So my 'mind' has been running at Mach 5 this week and pickled isn't a reflection of the gin consumed, but more to do with it playing games with me as I throw just one more thing into the mix for it to deal with.

As I sit here writing this, Storm Ciara is raging outside so no walk for Sapphire today and with all party goers back with their parents, I think I have a good excuse as soon as I hit send, to light a fire, snuggle up and give my mind a well earned rest as whatever this week has on the horizon, I will deal with it better when less pickled!

(And for an 'unpickling' recipe, please read on below...)

Until next time,

Caroline Cavanagh,

And another thing...

The last client I worked with this week led me to talking about one of my favourite things - gratitude!

Developing an attitude of gratitude is like building a strong muscle that allows you to interact with the world in a different way.  It is a muscle we all have but like all muscles, if you don't use it much, it becomes weak and maybe even atrophies.  However, if you flex it often, it becomes very strong.  And that strength can not only support improved mental health but also improve sleep!

If you want to learn about a little exercise that you can do (it takes less than a minute) to strengthen your gratitude muscle, then simply hit reply to this email and put Gratitude in the title and hit send!
